  • The Galactic Systems Confederation, more commonly known as the Systems Confederation, or simply the Confederation, was the dominant government following the Great Civil War in which saw the collapse of the Galactic Alliance less than a decade after being re-established. Following three devastating wars, two which Force users were primarily responsibly, Anti-Jedi sentiment garnished immense popularity with the Galactic population causing many Galactic Alliance systems defecting to the Free Alliance of Systems, the predecessor and interim state of the Systems Confederation, eventually causing the Galactic Alliance to collapse from within. In 144 ABY, the day that was later commemorated on Liberation Day, the Systems Confederation signed two separate treaties with the Galactic Alliance and the New Jedi Order, the former an unconditional surrender, the latter an agreement to adhere restrictions of activity as defined by the democratically elected members of the newly formed Galactic Parliament.
