Baldwin's Casuals was a denim clothing manufacturing company already established in London whose northern factory was set up by Mike Baldwin when he moved into the Street in October 1976 with the location being the refurbished site of the Mark Brittain Warehouse which had burned down the previous year. In September 1982, rising costs meant that Mike had to choose between closing one of his operations and, with a lower cost basis up North, he chose to shut the London factory.
