Beyond Birthday (also known as BB or B), is a serial killer that is featured in the novel Death Note: Another Note by Nisio Isin. The history behind this character is interesting. Beyond Birthday was once a resident of Whammy's House, an orphanage that took in and cared for gifted children. Originally, he was simply known as B, second in line to replace L should something happen to him. After the one known as A committed suicide, he was then first in line to become L. Keep in mind, these events took place before Mello and Near were under consideration for becoming L's heir.
