Drake was a clone who served under the Galactic Republic, and temporarily the Galactic Empire. He was cloned as part of an elitist group of clones, Destructive Ranged Army Killers, or D.R.A.K.. The D.R.A.K. had more free will then most clones, even more than the ARC troopers, which gave them an advantage in various circumstances, they were also cloned with more endurance then others. The D.R.A.K. were a faction of clones that were trained under extreme circumstances that most clones would not survive, in fact it took months of development of clones in the D.R.A.K. project for the first clone to finally pass the training, Alpha 254.

He was cloned as part of an elitist group of clones, Destructive Ranged Army Killers, or D.R.A.K.. The D.R.A.K. had more free will then most clones, even more than the ARC troopers, which gave them an advantage in various circumstances, they were also cloned with more endurance then others. The D.R.A.K. were a faction of clones that were trained under extreme circumstances that most clones would not survive, in fact it took months of development of clones in the D.R.A.K. project for the first clone to finally pass the training, Alpha 254. After Alpha's successful passing of the training, more clones were made in his likeness, some stronger then him. Due to a clone needing to have some sort of limit on his strength, as too much strength could alter intelligence and could become defective without a proper balance, clones of this type were made only slightly stronger then Alpha. After the battle of Geonosis, Drake was cloned under the name Eclipse 187254, and after killing a Separatist general in single combat was stationed in the 501st Legion, shortly after this his strong dislike of his clone name caused him to take the D.R.A.K.'s name and his clone name Eclipse and merge them to give him the name Drake. During his training as a Jedi, he befriended Anakin Skywalker, the two accompanied each other on many battlefields as great friends.
