When the Apocalypse began, Farmington was one of the first towns hit. The US National Guard, however, was stationed there to defend it from Zombies, and they held the town of Farmington for a couple of months. Food supplies and ammunition ran low, however, and a Navajo man named Ahiga Haskie in the National Guard made the controversial decision to relocate to the Four Corners Airport in hopes of finding supplies and possibly taking an airplane to Texas. The planes were beyond repair, and the airport was hopelessly overrun by Zombies. The planes were beyond repair, and the airport was hopelessly overrun by Zombies. In the now legendary Battle of the Four Corners, 562 National Guardsmen and armed civilians under the command of Haskie destroyed the Horde occupying the airport. Supplies were found, and the survivors gradually drove the Zombies out of Farmington and the surrounding region.
