Raptor Boost (Japanese: Falcon Knuckle - ファルコンナックル, Farukon Nakkuru) is Captain Falcon's Side Special Move. Captain Falcon rushes a bit forward. If he comes in contact with an opponent during this time, he does a quick, flaming uppercut. When used in the air, Falcon will instead lowercut targets downwards for a Meteor Smash.

- Raptor Boost is the name of Captain Falcon's side special move used in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. Melee. The move involves Falcon rushing forward, and preparing for a fiery uppercut. If the name connects while he charges forward, the foe will be launched upwards, often leading into various combos, such as his famous Forward Aerial or Falcon Dive if timed correctly. This move was the pinnacle of his combos in SSBM. Almost all of his throws are followed by this attack. Though the attack is fairly weak in it's own right, doing around 6% damage (which is considered low in the Smash Bros. series, Falcon would not be the same without it. It is his primary and most recognizable set-up, without a doubt. When used in the air, it launches foes down.

* When Falcon performs Raptor Boost and falls from the stage, he becomes helpless. Some fans take this as a note to the F-Zero games. When somebody tries to ram somebody from the race-track but fails and falls from the race-track they become practically helpless.
* This is the only special move of Captain Falcon where there is no Falcon in the name. However, it should be noted that "raptor" means "bird of prey" and a falcon is a bird of prey.
