Harry Silver worked as a bail bondsman in Los Angeles. His wife was in the hospital at the time that he hired the Angels. He also mentioned that his home was mortgaged. In his thirty year career, Vic Devlin was the first person ever to run out on him. He hired the Townsend Agency to bring Devlin back to L.A. rather than be out $50 000. After Devlin's arrest, Silver sent a bottle of Champagne to the Agency's offices.
