| - Private 1st Class Marrita Tiner (nicknamed Tiny by fellow servicemen) was an infantryman in the UNSC Marine Corps. She first enlisted in the year 2547 and served throughout various campaigns in the Human-Covenant War, including the battles at Draco III, Troy, and the 2nd Battle of New Harmony. Maritta was born in 2530 to a family of four, in the city of Kallio, capital of New Österland. She lived there for fourteen years, attending Ōbhibādōn Elementary School for five, then Kirsikka Premier for four. She focused most on sports and theater, alternating between swim, track, and soccer competitions, and was a regular participant of her city's youth theater group. Her mother, meanwhile, had received acclaim for her role as Anna Leonowens in the 2540 revival of “The King and I”, and thanks to her influence Marrita hoped to go into acting when she grew up. Marrita’s plans changed, however, when she was 14 years old, the year that the Covenant invaded Miridem. The colony received word beforehand and many were forced to evacuate, Verent and other Inner Colonies being swarmed with immigrants. Exposure with them for her remaining school years changed her outlook, and that coupled with financial concerns from her district’s business merges led to enlisting in the UNSC Marine Corps. Tiner's career kept her stationed at Verent at first, but as the war began to grow closer her company too began rotating to other colonies. She was noted to be popular among her squad, but less respectful to her officers, which led twice to demotions and her penalization for her lack of responsibility. But Tiner's first battle with the Covenant came in 2549, at the Battle of Draco III, and the ensuing massacre there was a permanent ingraining of her duty's meaning to her. Following this, she took part in the evacuations of Troy, and then a minor role in Operation: HOSPITALITY, the 2nd Battle of New Harmony, the Battle of Quebec, and the Battle of Installation 00.
