However, she was still good at lightsaber combat and enjoyed practicing with her friends while she was a youngling. Around 74 ABY, Gaeriel fell in love with Zevan Niros, who was a fellow Jedi Padawan. Zevan had lost the physical use of his legs due to a childhood accident, but was able to walk by using the Force. He was a technical genius, almost on par with Anakin Skywalker, and spent much of his spare time modifying droids. The two got married in 77 ABY, but Zevan was killed two years later in the Battle of Drakir. She finally saw him again shortly after she herself was killed during Darth Krayt's raid on Ossus.
