Schließlich bekam er eine Anstellung eines von Kanzler Kalpanas militärischen Beratern, allerdings zog er bald darauf nach Spira, wo er, dank seinen politischen Kontakten und den Beziehungen seiner Familie, zum Senator eines einflussreichen Sektors aufsteigen konnte.

- Finis G. Valorum was probably the biggest loser in the entire Star Wars Universe. At one point in time, he was the Supreme Chancellor of the entire Galactic Republic, so he was obviously a smart guy and knew how to play his cards right. He even survived an assassination attempt by John Wilkes Bith. However, shortly after becoming Chancellor, he was booted out because nobody in the Senate liked him, and, as a matter of fact, they threw in a "Vote of No Confidence", which pretty much means the Senate thinks you are really crappy.
- Finis Valorum is the former Supreme Chancellor of the Republic before Palpatine took office in the Star Wars series. He was a friend of Yoda and his ancestor was the first Chancellor. At some poin in his administration, he sent a Jedi to resolve disputes between criminal organizations. In his final term, he sent two Jedi Knights as ambassadors to prevent a war between the Trade Federation and Naboo and stop the blockade. The Chancellor could not do anything except appointing meeting because of the Senate's control. Valorum was portrayed by Terrence Stamp.

- Finis Valorum fu il penultimo Cancelliere Supremo del Senato Galattico, essendo stato il predecessore di Palpatine. Riguardo Valorum giravano voci che lo vedevano coinvolto in alti livelli di corruzione, inoltre era tenuto sotto scacco dai burocrati, che sembravano appoggiare gli interessi della Federazione dei Mercanti. Nel 32 BBY, non sapendo come fronteggiare il blocco navale di Naboo, si rivolse al Consiglio Jedi, che inviò Qui-Gon Jinn e Obi-Wan Kenobi nel ruolo di ambasciatori. Perse il suo posto nel Senato dopo che la Regina Amidala di Naboo chiese un voto di sfiducia dietro consiglio del Senatore Palpatine, e vennero così indette nuove elezioni, che vennero vinte dal Senatore Palpatine di Naboo.

Lopulta Valorum äänestettiin ulos virastaan hänen toisen kanslerikautensa päätteeksi 32 BBY.
