abstract
  • Moam was a molten and extremely active body of rock in the Cynon system. Its orbit occasionally passed by the ringed gas giant Dplor, causing gravitational shredding of its exterior and causing planet-wide divergent plate boundaries to spread. Landmasses in between dueling boundaries would be thrown upward into massive mountain chains before becoming consumed by the magma sea once again. The reason for its activity was explained by positrons found in Dplor's rings. Moam pulled these positrons in and they became enriched in the magmas of the planet. This increased the spontaneous annihilation of antimatter with matter, triggering internal forces to increase the speed of rotating convection cells, thus increasing the speed of rate of magma formation at divergent boundaries, and increasing plate movement across the planet. All of this occurred at ten times normal geologic rates. When Dplor moved away from Moam, the activity slowed to just above the normal rate for an active planet. Aurelius Tempest performed a test on Moam of the World Devastator's destructive capabilities. It sucked many areas of hardened lava into its forge and built more machines from the material.
