Ramps are a rare mechanic that appears in Crash Twinsanity where they are only seen on N. Sanity Beach and in Jungle Bungle where they are paired with a sled. The one on N. Sanity Beach is massive and is made out of wood and has various rock platforms to get up to it. It is used to get over to a small nearby island. In Jungle Bungle, it is seen, shortly before Cortex's boss right, going downhill and it is smaller and it is paired with the same sled.

  • Ramps fall into three main classes: * Paved/Concrete ramps vary widely in size and shape * Sand ramps are piles of sand which are often smaller than concrete ones * Quarterpipes are special pieces whose usage requires deviation from the track (and thus are not recommended for Racing).
  • Many ships were equipped with ramps. In 1986, two garbage men were startled by the sudden appearance of the HMS Bounty's ramp and a Human figure. (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home) Ramps were among the left technology on the abandoned mining planet Dytallix B as of 2364. (TNG: "Conspiracy" ) Ramps were a component in Parrises squares. In 2367, Jean-Luc Riker fell off the ramp and broke his arm. (TNG: "Future Imperfect" ) In 2370, the Cardassian design of Deep Space 9 made it difficult to add ramps to assist Ensign Melora Pazlar in moving about the station in her wheelchair. (DS9: "Melora")
  • A Ramp is a Board Feature in Metroid Prime Pinball. Shooting the ball up a ramp earns Samus points. She can follow that up by shooting the ball up a flashing white arrow to start a combo.
  • Ramp was originally a medium infantryman of the 9th Company, 8th Legion of the Bonehunters and later a heavy in the 12th Squad under Sergeant Thom Tissy.

  • Ramps are a type of geography that will appear in all Animal Crossing series games except in Wild World. In Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Wild World, the towns are smaller, and there is only one level. As its name implies, a ramp is a sloping piece of land, usually covered in grass, that connects the higher and lower parts of town. Because it is sloped, it causes sport balls and snowballs to roll down, making it hard to bring them up it. Each town has two ramps, one on each side of town in Animal Crossing and City Folk.

Clovers, weeds, flowers, items and cracks can be placed or appear on the ramps. They are often used as a strategy to catch a tarantula or scorpion. In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, there are two ramps for each town and are only used as a transition between the town and beach. When someone is following the player in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, like Katie, Tom Nook, or Isabelle, they will ask if the player wants them to stop following, as there is no good reason to take them to the beach. In Animal Crossing it is possible to have three layers of the town, which makes the maximum number of ramps per town six.
