Eli Zabar (born 1943 in New York City) is an American food expert, caterer and well-known restauranteur . Known for creating fine breads and vinegars in the Upper West Side, as well as the owner of several popular restaurants, such as E.A.T., The Vinegar Factory, Eli's Manhattan & Eli's The Restaurant. His roots as a foodie are well entrenched as his family owned a locally family delicatessen. He is frequently referenced in Ina Garten's media franchise, the Barefoot Contessa.
