Umar Komm (pronounced OO-mahr kohmm) was a Bazhir shaman who visited the tribe of the Bloody Hawk in 438 HE, when Alanna of Trebond was the tribe's shaman. He was part of the school of magic coming into existence there. Umar also became a friend of Alanna's and it was him who first used the nickname "chicks" for Alanna's shaman students, Kara and Kourrem, and the relationship they had with Alanna. He was also one of the shamans overseing the shaman ritual of Alanna's apprentices. His magic was blue-green. He only appears in The Woman Who Rides Like a Man.
