Victor Marie Hugo (February 26, 1802 - May 22, 1885) was a French poet, novelist, and dramatist who was the most important of the French Romantic authors. His best-known works are the novels, Les Misérables and The Hunchback of Notre Dame (French: Notre-Dame de Paris), which was adapted into the 1996 animated feature film of the same name, in which two gargoyles: Victor and Hugo were each named after him. His name, Victor Hugo, is also a character in the 2011 Disney/Pixar film Cars 2.
