Hosianne Schäfer-von Metten, commonly referred to by her maiden name Hosianne von Metten, is a Hulstrian Hosian Democratic politician, the current Governor-General of Hulstria and Gao-Soto and one of the longest-serving Staatsministers of post-Septembrist Hulstria and Gao-Soto. A descendant of first HDV Chairman Emil von Metten, Von Metten comes from a political family of some influence, but started out her career as a doctor. During the September Revolution, she became engaged with the politics of the Hosianisch-Demokratisches Verbund within the 15th of September Movement, being seen as the former's political wunderkind (which led to an early nickname, "Michels' mädchen"). A descendant of first HDV Chairman Emil von Metten, Von Metten comes from a political family of some influence, but started out her career as a doctor. During the September Revolution, she became engaged with the politics of the Hosianisch-Demokratisches Verbund within the 15th of September Movement, being seen as the former's political wunderkind (which led to an early nickname, "Michels' mädchen"). She was elected leader of the Hosianisch-Demokratisches Verbund in the run-up to the 3426 elections, succeeding Governor-General Thomas Michels. Von Metten served for 16 years as Staatsminister, defining the politics of Hulstria and Gao-Soto and leading her party to four consecutive electoral victories, leading three Cabinets. After she retired as HDV leader, the Social Democrats took control of the Staatsministerium and plurality in the Imperial Diet for the first time. To date, Von Metten's ideas are very influential in the HDV. In 3446, Von Metten returned to politics as the HDV-AF candidate for Governor-General, beating incumbent Harry Brenner in a landslide first-round victory.
