| - Jon: How has everyone been at the ranch? Last time we talked mum, Pikachu used Thunderbolt and you said, not again. Zoey: Pikachu had a bit of a disagreement with some other electric type Pokemon. Jon: That’s understandable. Pikachu has had a few problems with electric types along the way. Tyler: We need to get to the Pokemon Center soon. Jon: Yeah. Nurse Joy: Welcome everyone to the Pokemon League. There are four stadiums. The Center Stadium, Green Stadium, Blue Stadium and Red Stadium. The trainers starting are Tyler and Tilly in the Center Stadium. Jon and Rachael in the Green Stadium. Ryan and Harrison in the Red Stadium. And in the Blue Stadium is Daisy and Jack. Jon: So Tyler and I are going on facing off at the same time. Tyler: So is Ryan. Mary: When are we battling? Luke: I’m not on till 3pm at the Red Stadium. Ralph: Same but at the Green Stadium. Mary: I’m the last trainer to face today in the main stadium. Zoey: I wonder how long you all have before the battling begins. Ralph: You and Tyler and are on in 15 minutes. Michael: You can check what Pokemon your opponent have. Nate: There’s some computers out the back. Jon: Cool, best to have a look. Tyler: Same. Mary: I’m going to have a look at the other battles after yours. Zoey: Jon and Tyler are battling at the same time. Luke: I know Jon and Tyler will win so we can check their battles out at a later time. But I’m interested in seeing Tyler’s. Nate: I’m watching Jon’s of course. Michael: Same as us. Ralph: Me too. Jon: Thanks guys. Let’s all get through the preliminaries! Jon: So Rachael has an Ampharos, Pinsir, Corsola and even a Linoone and Grovyle. Tyler: Aren’t Linoone and Grovyle from Hoenn? Jon: Yes. Seems like Rachael has over 20 Pokemon of all variety of different types. What about you? Tyler: Tilly is the same. A lot of Pokemon. Though she seems to have used her Shelgon the most. Jon: If you go up against Shelgon, don’t underestimate it. Shelgon evolves into a Salamence. Tyler: I remember how strong Salamence are. Jon: Good luck in your battle. Tyler: You too. Tyler: Ice Beam! Tilly: Murkrow! You okay? Tilly: Great. Then use Aerial Ace! Tyler: Jynx, use Energy Ball! Tilly: Use Dark Pulse! Tyler: Finish with Ice Beam! Referee: Murkrow is unable to battle, Jynx wins. Jon: Let’s have a good battle. Rachael: I’ll be winning! Referee: Battle Begin! Nate: Quilava. Michael: I wonder how much Jon has learnt from his journey. Zoey: Jon’s at a disadvantage. Ralph: He can win. Rachael: Golem, Earth Power! Jon: Move fast dodge it! Jon: Fire Blast! Rachael: I may have underestimated you. Jon: I hope not. Rachael: Use Rock Polish! Jon: What does that do? Commentator: After taking a Fire Blast, Golem increases its speed with Rock Polish. Rachael: Now, Double-Edge! Jon: Dodge it! Commentator: Ferocious attack! Rachael: Stone Edge! Jon: You okay Quilava? Commentator: We have just received word that Tyler and Ryan have won their matches. Jon: Tyler won then. Quilava, we have to win too. Rachael: Good luck with that! Stone Edge! Jon: Quilava, dodge using Flamethrower! Commentator: Incredible! Quilava is flying thanks to Flamethrower. Rachael: You have just made it easier to hit Quilava! Earth Power! Jon: Fire Blast! Rachael: Stone Edge! Jon: Get up and dodge Quilava! Jon: I know you can dodge it Quilava! I know you can still battle! Commentator: Stone Edge hits its mark, but has Quilava taken to much damage? Rachael: I must commend you for your efforts but Golem will finish Quilava off. Rachael: Where is Quilava? Jon: Just learned a new move! Rachael: What? Jon: Use Flamethrower! Commentator: Where is Quilava going to use Flamethrower from? Luke: What is Jon planning? Tyler: I think I know. A variation of our battle against Whitney. Mary: What was that? Jon: Now Aerial Ace! Referee: Golem is unable to battle, Quilava wins! Jon: Yes! Rachael: Return Golem. Zoey: That was a good battle. Jon: Thanks. Tyler: And to think Quilava learned Dig like that. Jon: In the nick of time. Tyler: Unfortunately we won’t have time to see Ralph’s or Luke’s battle. Michael: We can watch it on TV. Nate: Mary’s battle has been pushed forward since some battle are ending faster than people expected. Jon: I’m going to cheer Mary on. Palmer: Hitmonchan, Thunder Punch! Mary: Dodge then Sky Attack! Referee: Hitmonchan is unable to battle. Mary and Noctowl win. Nurse Joy: Thank you for your patience. Here are the group stages which you will have to compete in. You have to win 2 of your 3 battles to get a confirmed place into the next round. The format will be double battles. If you look on the screens, you can see the groups. Jon: I’m facing against Maria, Tyson and Lisa. Tyler: I’ve got Marcus, Jason and April to fight against. Mary: Tony, Baron and Charlotte for me. Luke: Misty, Caroline and James for me. Ralph: And I have Freddy, Mona and Barry. Nate: Only one person can get through this group stage. Jon: You better be ready, because we are fighting in this competition, so you better not lose. Ryan: I wouldn’t even come close! Your Quilava almost failed. It’s surprising it learnt how to use Dig when it did. Jon: You can say whatever you want about my Pokemon Ryan, I don’t care. We have each other. Ryan: You’re pathetic. Pokemon are only tools to get what we want. Tyler: That isn’t true! Jon: Leave it. Ryan isn’t worth it. Mary: I already hate that guy. Jon: We’ve met him a few times during our travels. Luke: Well, once we pass the groups stage, it’ll be full force knockouts and you better be ready when facing me! Ralph: Or me! Jon: Let’s eat and then we’ll see! Tyler: That an eating challenge? Narrator: Jon, Tyler, Ralph, Mary and Luke made it past the preliminaries and so has Ryan. Now they need to get through the group stage to progress into the tournament.
