- Bronze Shield is an upgrade that can be found in the Storage Pit during the Bronze Age. It adds +1 piercing armor to all Infantry and all Academy units. This upgrade is available to most civilizations featured in the game. Civilizations that cannot research this technology include the Egyptians and the Assyrians which both lack the ability to develop shield upgrades.
- Bronze Shields are used in The Empire. One quality of a shield made of bronze is that it can carry a powerful protective enchantment, but only for a short time- early in battle, the enchantment wears off.[1a]

- Bronze Shield is the weakest shield, providing 1 Defense, 20% Evasion, and 1% Magic Evasion. It can be bought for 100 gil at Mythril, and can be equipped by Cecil, Ceodore, Kain, Cid, and Golbez.
- Bronze Shields are a small and round type of shield that can have either a Strength or Tactics requirement to use effectively. This is a Factions campaign item.
- Description It is a shield made of bronze. It is shiny and easy to color with dye.

In Golden Sun: The Lost Age, the Bronze Shield might never be useful because it is sold only in Garoh after the town is "returned to normal" following your completion of the Air's Rock dungeon, and it is possible to find the far superior shield artifact Fujin Shield in that dungeon (the Fujin Shield is so strong it's better than even an Iron Shield). The Bronze Shield would only be useful if you missed the Fujin Shield and aren't willing to go back for it.
