The Upstart card is a form of electronic ticketing used on public transport throughout Lovia. It is valid on a wide range of travel modes across the country including the two largest, the Pacific Railroad Company and Air Lovia. A standard Upstart card is a green credit-card-sized stored-value contact-less smartcard. Passengers touch it on an electronic reader when entering and leaving a transportation system. Cards may be "topped-up" by recurring payment authority, by online purchase or at transportation stations. The card is designed to reduce the number of transactions at ticket offices and the number of paper tickets, and to be more useful for passengers.

The card was first issued to public use in March 2008, following over a year of development. By May 2015, over 150,000 Upstart cards have been issued and more than 60% of all journeys on the Pacific Railroad Company were made using the card. It is a privately owned organisation by a consortium of Lovian business people, who purchased the company in May 2015.
