In telecommunications, a Supplemental Performance Report Message (abbreviated SPRM) is used in DS1 transmissions to indicate various conditions. It is a type of Performance Report Message (PRM). The unused U1, U2, and R bits of a PRM are used in SPRMs primarily to sectionalize circuit failures.
