A local Londoneer, Glaze was streetwise and had a good sense of humour. He came to Sun Hill after meeting Liz Rawton in a training course and was persuaded to join her in CID. Glaze got caught up in the Des Taviner scandal when he found out that Des planted evidence in accused murderer Jeff Simpson's residence. He reluctantly covered for him due to the fact that he new Simpson was guilty but later his conscience began getting the better of him. Simpson claimed he was set up and former Sun Hill officer Sally Johnson investigated the case. Glaze eventually revealed the truth but to avoid prosecution he kept £20,000 which he had come across during a robbery case and fled to South Africa.
