The Great Long Bardiche is a polearm. The strength of this weapons is in the fact that it combines the shield smashing ability of a two-handed axe with the length of a polearm, making it a powerful choice when facing cavalry, with a thrust to stop a charging horse before savagely swinging it on the enemy. Some of the downsides to this weapons are its high weight, which may put off players that want to remain quick on their feet and the inability to use a shield. These may not be serious problems though, as its weight prevents a successfully blocking wielder from being staggered in melee by all but the heaviest weapons.

These may not be serious problems though, as its weight prevents a successfully blocking wielder from being staggered in melee by all but the heaviest weapons. Its reach also makes it unwieldy if the enemy is too close, where a regular Great Bardiche would be much easier to handle for the same theoretical damage. Though the regular one can not be used to thrust, on the other hand, this makes it more reliable to use since the regular one will always be swung. On horseback, this weapon is also disappointing if one expected a true bardiche since it can only be used to thrust (without couched lance damage) with minor damaged instead of its powerful swing. These drawbacks should be considered since it's roughly twice as expensive as the Great Bardiche in multiplayer.
