Voltarium is an artificial unstable radioactive element which is used solely for the creation of a Nova bomb. In the age of the first Systems Commonwealth it appears that many ships, particularly Glorious Heritage design, were outfitted with Nova bombs, however, in the centuries that followed, Voltarium became a rather scarce commodity, only found on rogue systems like Marduk.
