- Ardia Terrsyn was a Human female who served as a captain in the Imperial Navy, later earning the title of countess and being promoted to Fleet Admiral. Hailing from the resort planet of Ord Cantrell, Terrsyn was had an ambitious personality, and thus decided to join the Galactic Empire despite that the New Order was prejudiced against females. She graduated the Corulag Officer Academy and became a gunnery officer aboard a Lancer-class frigate known as the Iron Wolf. Terrsyn and her crew preformed well in combat against the Alliance to Restore the Republic, which resulted in her promotion to captain of the Sealion, an Ardent-class fast frigate. Her tactical abilities impressed her commanders, though they hesitated to promote Terrsyn due to her gender. She did manage to get a promotion to Senior Captain. However, in one battle, her commanding admiral was killed when his vessel was destroyed by a Rebel kamikaze fighter. Terrsyn saw the opportunity, and took command of the fleet, being the next ranking officer present. She led the fleet and nearly defeated the Alliance, despite having the odds going against her. They retreated, but caused heavy casualties to the Rebels, forcing them to retreat as well. This briefly earned the attention of Emperor Palpatine when he overheard several admirals on Coruscant discussing it, and thinking she may be "another Thrawn", he decided to talk to her; against the advice of Darth Vader, who believed Terrsyn was just lucky. The Emperor promoted her to fleet admiral, and after further successes made achieved her, awarded her the title Countess of the Empire. When he died at the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, Terrsyn took her fleet of vessels back to her homeworld of Ord Cantrell, forcing the local moff to join his forces with hers. Terrsyn then founded the Protectorate of Ord Cantrell, a splinter faction of the Empire. Though technically a warlord, at the same time, she tried to remain loyal to Grand Vizier Sate Pestage's government, being a sort of semi-autonomous state. After the Director of Imperial Intelligence took over, however, Terrsyn renounced loyalty to the central government and went fully warlord, using the riches of Ord Cantrell (having some of the most expensive resorts in the galaxy) to finance her forces.
