- Raines is a man who engages in unscrupulous activities. During the early 1960s, he was "in upstate New York, in The Penn." However, for the last couple of years, he has been working the (West) Coast with Glen Morgan. While on their way to Bakersfield, CA, Raines and Morgan make an unscheduled stop in Ojai, CA at Harry's Service Station.
- A police drama in which Jeff Goldblum plays the title character. Michael Raines is a homicide detective who had ambitions to become a mystery writer. He solves murders by hallucinating reconstructions of the victims, building on the evidence at hand. This very promising show was cancelled in the middle of its first season, presumably as a result of the 2007 writers' strike. It is available on Hulu.
- Raines is Grace Lynn's cameraman of the Crossbell Times in the Zero/Ao duo logy.
