After the encounter, Dukat and Kira mounted a system-5 disruptor from Korma inside the Groumall's cargo bay and followed K'Temang to Loval. The disruptor fired effectively on the Bird-of-Prey, but the freighter was itself severely damaged when the Klingons returned fire. Kira managed to switch the crews of the two ships via transporter, and Dukat then used the Bird-of-Prey's weapons to destroy the Groumall with the Klingons aboard. Sie wird dabei mit einem klingonischen Bird-of-Prey konfrontiert, allerdings sehen die Klingonen im Frachter keine Bedrohung und greifen ihn deshalb nicht an. Nach dieser Begegnung befestigen Kira und Dukat einen System-5-Disruptor von Korma im Inneren der Groumall, in dessen Laderampe. Sie folgen daraufhin dem klingonischen Schiff nach Loval. Der Disruptor funktionierte effektiv, aber der Frachter wird schwer beschädigt, als die Klingonen das Feuer erwidern. Kira organisiert einen Crewwechsel der beiden Schiffe mit dem Transporter.
