The 1949 Goodall Cup was the 28th edition of the inter-state series between Victoria and New South Wales. It was won by Victoria, who claimed the championship for the 6th time in total, and the first since 1947. The competition for the Goodall Cup was staged as part of the second series from September 17-24, 1949, at the Sydney Glaciarium and the Ice Palais at Moore Park. The strength of the cup was reportedly halved as players from the breakaway Victorian Ice Hockey League (VIHL) were not allowed to participate.
