Synopsis
  • When trying to track down a group of terrorists call The Thousand, Batman finds that they are using a new kind of high power automatic rifle. After one of the terrorists dies when his gun explodes, Batman learns that Sgt. Rock is also investigating these terrorists for the government. Mostly because they have access to the M-76, which is a top secret rifle being developed by the US Military. As Batman and Sgt. Rock search for clues, the story is being transcribed by DC Comics writer Bob Haney, artist Jim Aparo, and editor Murray Boltinoff. However, as Aparo pencils and inks the story, his home is invaded by members of the Thousand who try to stop Aparo from completing the story. As Aparo flees his home and contacts Haney and Boltinoff to get bits of the story he forgot. Batman and Rock trace the stolen rifles to a light house where Aparo has hide out from the terrorists. The caped crusader and Rock manage to defeat the terrorists and take them into justice, unknowingly saving Aparo's life, thereby insuring their own victory because Aparo is able to finish penciling the tale.
