- Wisp is an offensive sub-weapon that appears in The 2nd Runner. It is obtained by the player from Ardjet after deleting and destroying the Viola A.I.. The Wisp allows the user to grab objects from a distance, throwing out three small bits which latch on to a target and return it to the user. The Wisp sub-weapon also makes an appearance in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, as the "Hand of Jehuty" bionic arm. As in The 2nd Runner, it allows Punished "Venom" Snake to grab objects at a distance, but only applies to enemy combatants.
- Wisp is a shy young woman who's grown up around military people and the Air Force all her life. A daughter of a General in the Air Force, she had to overcome size and personality, to earn her place as a military pilot, before slight auxiliary vehicle training. She is shy about who she is and who her parents are, more than with most things. As a very much newer Joe, she is often very much nervous around some of the more legendary bigger names, who've been around such a long time, afraid of not fitting in or measuring up, as much as she'd like to, and would like to make friends. She is very competent when flying or on the ground, it just often takes her a while to believe it around them.

- Wisps are small, semi-sentient balls of light which dwell in remote locations throughout the world and are drawn to magical places of power and even people with a gift for magic. They appear relatively harmless at first glance but can defend themselves with tentacles of light if they're disturbed. Some stories claim that wisps may lead adventurers astray in swamps and forests while guarding great treasure although these rumours haven't been confirmed. It's a hypothesis among some mages that wisps might come into existence and live off of mana so they need to constantly replenish themselves with magic or they'll fade away.

- Wisp (also called Lumina) is the Mana Spirit of Light. She appears as a ghostly creature comprised of light and resembles the will-o'-the-wisp from which her name is derived. Her powers are somewhat varied, with lasers, orbs of holy power, barriers against attack, and other powers that could be seen traditionally as "divine retribution", with the addition of healing spells (formerly Undine's domain). In many of her appearances, she often appears as cheerful and optimistic but doesn't get along with Shade. Her personality is the opposite of Dryad, who is more pessimistic and lacks confidence.

- Wisps, Aeia are translucent, floating, spherical entities that may be found across the world. There are six varieties, found in different but often overlapping regions. - In 2152, Enterprise was encountered by the wisp ship, which opened up a large bay door, and "swallowed" Enterprise. Inside, the wisps flew freely in the ship's atmosphere, which consisted of helium with traces of xenon. Upon their first encounter with Humans, the wisps converted their atmosphere to one of nitrogen and oxygen. Shortly thereafter, they briefly inhabited Charles Tucker, before slowly taking over crew members, one by one, aboard Enterprise. Based on Tucker's experience, the wisps could swap places with a body's owner, who then spent time as a similar, but yellow-in-color wisp-creature. While they were in this state, the Humans were immersed in realistic hallucinations.
