Her mother abandoned her when she was young, only leaving her with a poem. During the mission, she found that the witch child was not who she thought she was, describing Iliana as 'childish'. Despite destiny, Galen was promised to Keller instead of Iliana. Keller has two friends, Nissa Johnson, a lamia and the driver and Winfrith (Winnie) Arlin, a young, fighting witch.

On L.J Smith's website, it was revealed that Rashel Jordan was Keller's twin. They have many similarities besides looking alike such as having names both starting with the letter 'R,' both having unique skills. Rashel is even called Rashel the Cat. Keller(Raksha) doesn't go by her first name, and neither does Quinn(John). It is also suggested in the short story "Thicker Than Water" on L.J.Smith's official website that Rashel may also be able to shapeshift, and Keller agrees to help her twin achieve this.
