An Entity of Type : owl:Thing, within Data Space : 134.155.108.49:8890 associated with source dataset(s)

The AREA_* constants are used by two of the NWScript commands that detect the terrain type of an area so that these commands can return three values: TRUE, FALSE, and invalid. Since all nonzero values are considered true, these commands return a true value both when they return TRUE (a.k.a. AREA_ABOVEGROUND and AREA_NATURAL) and when they are given an invalid area as a parameter.

  • WARNING: Any script which is imported that uses the missing constants will fail to compile. Note: It is unclear as to why AREA_ABOVEBROUND and AREA_NATURAL use the same constant number, as do AREA_ARTIFICIAL and AREA_UNDERGROUND. The Survival skill provides a synergy bonus of +2 to all "above ground natural environments". Caves are a good example of natural below ground areas and thus if they are marked as AREA_NATURAL instead of AREA_UNDERGROUND they will falsely grant this synergy bonus.
