| - Bitzer plays fetch with a frisbee.
- Fetching is an episode in the Shaun the Sheep series of television programs.
- The Gift of Fetching is Mind Magic that gives the user the ability to move objects without physically touching them. It is especially potent when combined with FarSight, as it allows someone with the Fetching gift to be able to see exactly where the object is they are retrieving. Another gift, FireStarting, is said to be similar to fetching as it involves moving an object in a minuscule way to create a vibration that starts a fire.
- Fetching is a human industry that arose following the Human-Covenant war. With the great amount of derelict warships floating in space, the UNSC reasoned that it could recover a good amount of working Shaw-Fujikawa Translight Engines. Thus, companies such as Warner & Ives began contracting "fetchers" to prospect battlefield wreckages and recover usable drives. Oliver Birch was a fetcher.

| - The Gift of Fetching is Mind Magic that gives the user the ability to move objects without physically touching them. Another gift, FireStarting, is said to be similar to fetching as it involves moving an object in a minuscule way to create a vibration that starts a fire. Fetching can be used for a variety of reasons, from sending an important message home to the Monarch from circuit, or stealing the ball during a game of Kirball. Someone with ab especially strong Fetching Gift can use it to move living beings, including themselves, over very short distances.

It is considered important to have two ships available when fetching, primarily because a fetcher often has to enter dense debris fields, something that isn't possible for most reasonably priced Slipspace-capable ships. For example, Oliver Birch had a small tug, the Galileo's Worst Enemy, for fetching runs of about four to five thousand kilometers, while using the slipspace-capable as a base of operations and for interstellar journeys.
