The Dorvain General Election, 1898 was held on the 27th May 1898 to elect the 25th Parliament of the Commonwealth of Dorvain. Each of the 125 parliamentary constituencies elected one Member of Parliament to Parliament. The election marked the cementing of a shift in the electoral map, with the capital generally becoming more Democratic leaning with the north becoming more Royalist. The election was also held on the 100th Anniversary of the Commonwealth.

abstract	The Dorvain General Election, 1898 was held on the 27th May 1898 to elect the 25th Parliament of the Commonwealth of Dorvain. Each of the 125 parliamentary constituencies elected one Member of Parliament to Parliament. The election marked the cementing of a shift in the electoral map, with the capital generally becoming more Democratic leaning with the north becoming more Royalist. The election was also held on the 100th Anniversary of the Commonwealth. Carl Clarke died in 1895 after winning a fifth term. John Nixon was his successor. Nixon became popular in his own right as opposed to being in his predecessor's shadow. With the gradual advancement of technology and an improving economy, his key theme in the election was investment for the future and the next century (with this election being the last of the 19th Century). William Lance's Royalists meanwhile blasted Nixon for what they perceived was his over spending, and not spending which was in the favour of the working class which had slowly began becoming more partial to the Royalists. The election marked a sixth consecutive victory for the Democrats.
