Group Captain (Gp Cap or Grp Cap) is a senior rank within the RAF. It is equivalent to a Royal Navy Captain or a Colonel in the Army or Marines. In the Air Training Corps, a staff member of the rank Group Captain is not a RAFVR(T) officer and so will not be seen wearing a VRT pin on their rank slide.
