It bordered the Aulmad and the Siccative, and was full of green hills and thick forests. Compared to the nearby regions, the Madescent was pleasant and mild, with few dangers for careful travelers. The Madescent was home to the duarbar, a race of chest-high humanoids that wore their bones on the outside, and thus had no need of clothing. There was also a lot of dowchits here.

The northernmost border was marked by a salt marsh near Wostonall. The river Gaughan ran along the northern parts, and water caravans traveled from Wostonall to Landerlank further southwest in the Madescent.
