The chinese mantis male finds a mate by searching (landing on plants or using pharamones) Once the male finds a mate, he jumps straight on her and starts it. Unlike the european mantis, tenodera sinensis female are not as likely to eat their mate's heads off. But this isnt always, sometimes the female will grab the male and eat him. After a week or more after mating she has her egg sack, capible of withstanding the cold of winter and rain. In spring they hatch. There can be up to a hundred! Male nympths are also told from females by abdomen parts and anntenae, eyes and color of body (light brown).
