DJ Koopa is regarded as a promising DJ of the 2Step or UK Garage sound, popular during the late 1990s and early 2000s. However, his roots lie in Baleric House, the format in which he created many of his early records. DJ Koopa now regularly plays UK Garage, Funky House and predominantly R&B/Hip-Hop with his resiency at Alex's Bar in Magaluf. Koopa has also featured heavily in the rise of internet radio, with various popular shows on stations such as Evolution, Tease and UrbanBreakz FM playing to a vast audience around the world. In 2005 he produced a remix of Gangster's Paradise, that was very well recieved around clubs both in the UK and abroad. At the same time he produced a comical funky house version of the advert jingle "I Love Horses", which has recieved regular play on Chris Moyles' breakfast show on Radio 1. Along with DJ's Kunckle5 and Essence, DJ Koopa is now setting up a club night called What The Funk. It wll initially be based at Club XES, Bora Bora in Magaluf and then expanded back to various venues in the UK. The night will specialise in Funky and Electro House, and Old Skchool Garage. A hugely successful "test night" in September 2007 has led What The Funk to being one of the most highly anticipated club nights in the Balerics. He is currently releasing new material on his own record label LTF Records.
