Born to poor farmers in southern Russia Baynak Karkas Was 1 of 5 children to Gregory and Sasha Karkas. By 1917 when he was 3 his father joined in the fight against the Tsar of Russian with the Bolsheviks, thus sparking Karkas's interests in Communism. at age 6 he was already top of his class in school and was a devoted communist at 10 he helped out on the farm after his father died from Cancer. By the time he was 16 he had enlisted into the Red army and quickly became a officer at the rank Captain.
