Despite its title, it is not an adaptation of Todd Dezago and Todd Nauck's Young Justice comic series, but rather an adaptation of the entire DC Universe with a focus on young sidekicks. Aquaman has a small role in the series, however, his sidekick Aqualad is a main character in the show. Young Justice: Invasion is the second Season of Young Justice. Aquaman plays a small role, but the former Aqualad has joined his father. Lagoon Boy replaces Aqualad on the team.

The Flash plays a small role once again, but Kid Flash appears mostly as Wally West who is now in college.
