| - Neuschwanstein is a castle in Bavaria, Germany by the town of Hohenschwangau. It was built by King Ludwig the IInd - in A Grimm Warning, Mother Goose claims this was done as a favour to her because she was friends with "Wiggy". She asked him to build the castle to cover the portal to the Land of Stories. Neuschwanstein is one of Germany's most famous landmarks and receives over 1.3 million visitors per year. It can be viewed in all its splendor from the Marienbrücke (Mary's Bridge); which Conner and Bree also cross in A Grimm Warning. Emmerich, a boy from Hohenschwangau, leads them into the castle at night so they can look for the portal. They enter through a hidden tunnel that leads to the storage room of a goft shop inside the castle. Conner finds the deserted castle a little creepy. There are many animal carvings in the windows, animal figures on the mosaic floors and paintings of mythological and religious figures. They look at the Throne Room and King Ludwig's bedroom, but neither feels like the right place for the portal. In The Singers Hall, on the fifth floor, they find what they are looking for: a large painting of a magic garden. Conner uses the magic panpipe to open the portal and he, Bree and Emmerich are sucked into it.
