Saint Angelicus of Subasium, born Joannes Petrinus Bernardinus but nicknamed Angelicus by his father, is a Hosian monastic saint and the founder of the Order of the Brothers of All (Ordo Fratrum Omnium, also known simply as the Angelicans). The son of a rich merchant in the Hosian Selucian city-state of Subasium, which was part of the Archipatriarchal States during the Selucian Middle Ages, legend has it that Angelicus received visions from God from an early age, leading to his undertaking increasing amounts of good works. | - Saint Angelicus of Subasium, born Joannes Petrinus Bernardinus but nicknamed Angelicus by his father, is a Hosian monastic saint and the founder of the Order of the Brothers of All (Ordo Fratrum Omnium, also known simply as the Angelicans). The son of a rich merchant in the Hosian Selucian city-state of Subasium, which was part of the Archipatriarchal States during the Selucian Middle Ages, legend has it that Angelicus received visions from God from an early age, leading to his undertaking increasing amounts of good works. When this led to conflict with his father, Angelicus embraced a new style of life inspired by the Annunciation's account of the poverty of Eliyahu's first Hosioi as they were told to preach the Annunciation "and take nothing but the love in your hearts and My Peace and Joy with you always". Friends and followers were attracted to this simple life of preaching the Annunciation in poverty, and this community they referred to as the "Brothers of All", preaching that they were the brothers of all men as God was the Father of all. Angelicus is often depicted in the trademark roughspun brown habit of his Order, with three knots. He is also depicted as bearing the wounds of crucifixion, which he received following a vision of Elijah's Second Exile. Often depicted with him is the motto Pax et Bonum, taken from the Annunciation, which is the motto of the Angelican Order.
