- Resist were a Visual Kei band, formed in 2012. They released their first material, a mini album titled "Advance" on September 26, 2012. Vocalist Kaede then departed from the band after their live at Birth Shinjuku on June 4, 2013. On June 11, ex-Diement vocalist RYO filled in as support vocalist. They later disbanded on September 22, 2013, after their oneman live "made of ∞ Dream" tour final at Shibuya RUIDO K2.
- The members of Able Squad prevent Marsh's guards from taking him to his execution. They launch, and Marsh leads an E-frame assault on the Neo flagship, which gives the ExoFleet the opportunity to escape. Able Squad was left behind, and they land on Earth, near Chicago. The ExoFleet is badly damaged in its engagement with the Neo sapiens, and is forced to withdraw from the inner solar system. Phaeton begins to tighten his grip on the Homeworlds through programs such as the required registration of natural-born humans. In an attempt to recruit new resistance members, while also allowing Able Squad to return to the ExoFleet, Napier broadcasts a message that is well received by Terrans, but outrages Phaeton. Able Squad escapes, but leaves their e-frames for the resistance to use.
- Resist is the third level spell on the Heal Materia. It makes characters immune to all statuses including instant death, as well as locking any statuses the character has on at the time the spell is cast on them (except for Barrier, MBarrier, Reflect, Shield, Regen, and Peerless), and costs 120 MP to cast. The item Vaccine has the same effect as this spell. Resist status can be removed with DeSpell spell or the White Wind Enemy Skill.
- The term resist meant that a player, mob, or NPC was not, or only to a lesser extent, affected by a spell or elemental attack. Full resists completely negated the effect and had the same effect as Immune. Partial resists only reduced the damage received by a percentage; these could only occur with non-binary spells.

- In most games, Resist is a spell and passive skill that commonly raises the elemental or magical defense of one ally. It first appears in Tales of Eternia as an Ice-elemental Craymel Arte. As a skill, it comes in several forms with enhancements: the base Resist, Resist 2 (レジスト2?), Resist 3 (レジスト3?), and Resist 4 (レジスト4?). Tales of the Abyss and Tales of Hearts both provide an alternative passive skill that decreases the chance of receiving status effects. In Tales of the Tempest, this effect version is adopted as a spell, preventing all possible status ailments for twenty seconds.

| - "Resist" is the upcoming twenty-first episode of the second season of Supergirl, and the forty-first episode overall. It will air on May 15, 2017.
Resist does not protect against statuses gained from the handicap reels in the Battle Square. This can lead to a rather serious handicap, as once applied, the Resist status will prevent the player from removing the status with normal Esuna spells and healing items. If the player casts Reflect on all enemies and all party members, and then applies Resist status on them all, and tries to cast a spell to a target, the game will freeze.
- The term resist means that a player, mob, or NPC was not, or only to a lesser extent, affected by a spell or elemental attack. Full resists completely negate the effect and have the same effect as Immune. Partial resists only reduce the damage received by a percentage; these can only occur with non-binary spells. There are two sources for spell resists. Firstly, the level difference between the caster and their target determines the spell hit chance. A spell which misses its target results in a full resist, whereas partial resists can not occur. Spell hit rating decreases the chance of getting a resist due to this difference. Secondly, Resistances increase the chance to resist a spell. They can cause both full and partial resists, and can be overcome with spell penetration (and, limited to binary spells, spell hit rating). A full resist due to level difference cannot be distinguished from a full resist due to resistances.

In Tales of the Abyss, if Natalia Luzu Kimlasca-Lanvaldear uses this spell within a fully charged Earth or Dark FOF Circle, it will be converted into Anti-Magic. Likewise, in Tales of Vesperia, Estelle can alter this spell into Resist Field with the skill "Dispersion" equipped. This game also has its own passive skill with the same effects for all playable characters, obtained with three different ranks, though the effects will only work if the equipments are equipped before battle. Tales of the Abyss and Tales of Hearts both provide an alternative passive skill that decreases the chance of receiving status effects. In Tales of the Tempest, this effect version is adopted as a spell, preventing all possible status ailments for twenty seconds.
