Asclepiades was a male Human governor of the Galactic Empire, overseeing the remote, uncharted Dominus system shortly before the Battle of Yavin. Originally a bureaucrat under the Galactic Republic, he was a competent administrator, and was appointed by Emperor Palpatine as a governor after the founding of the New Order. However, the Imperial Intelligence suggested that he may have hired a Jedi, in a plot to usurp the throne from Palpatine. This was just a cover, as Asclepiades was, in reality, planning to hand over his region to the Alliance to Restore the Republic. However, Selwyn Marhanen, an Emperor's Royal Guard infiltrated his space station, and tricked the governor into boarding an explosives-rigged shuttle. It was detonated by him, and killed the governor.
