In 1964, the fire department buy their first fire apparatus, a 1964 Chevrolet / Thibault pumper. A second fire station is built in 1965, in the other village of the territory, Daaquam, however the first truck in this fire station is the GMC Top Kick rescue when the fire department buy it in 2002. The first use of this station is a water reserve because the village of Daaquam has not any fire hydrants. In 2005, the municipality choose to build a new fire station in Saint-Just-de-Bretenières with the imminent arrival of the new tanker who is too big for the two old fire stations. An extension of one of the two old fire stations is impossible and firefighters equipments is separated in the two fire stations, but the two apparatus are called for fire. The old fire station in Saint-Just-de-Bretenières now serves as the municipal garage, the old fire station in Daaquam has been sold. A new rescue boat is buy when the department is installed in the new fire station, also a new pumper is command to Levasseur with a cost of 320 802.$10. This new pumper arrived in October 2013 and replaced the old Chevrolet / Thibault pumper. The department deceive a population of 715 citizens and a 133.1 km2 on the Canadian side, but the fire department also respond some calls on the American side. The fire department have mutual aid with Saint-Camille-de-Lellis, Sainte-Lucie-de-Beauregard, Saint-Fabien-de-Panet, Saint-Magloire and Saint-Adalbert. The department count 16 firefighters.
