Learning about the world's religions can be fundamental to expanding the minds of Americans. Many politicians speak about how they vote and act based on how it is said in the Bible, but many Americans don't know if it is true or they don't even know what the Bible is saying. One of the major world conflicts that have come into the foreground is that between the Sunnis and Shiites. I'm sure they have heard of the names, but I don't believe they know the significance of their belief discrepancy because they both follow the same religion. Giving an overview about the religions would help avoiding personal conflicts, such as: * Knowing not to plan a major meeting on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement for the Jewish people. * Knowing not to plan lunches during Ramadan, a month where Muslims are to avoid indulgences such as eating, drinking, smoking, and intercourse between dawn and dusk. * Knowing not to plan a huge steak dinner on Friday's during Lent, where Catholics are to avoid eating meat. I could go on, but I won't for the sake of brevity.
