Reiko Takahashi (1886 - December 1941) was the wife of Jiro Takahashi and the mother of Hiroshi and Kenzo. Like her husband, Reiko considered herself Japanese rather than American, and was pleased with Japan's invasion of Hawaii. In December 1941, while her family was fishing, Japan launched a bombing run on Honolulu. Their apartment building was bombed by Japanese planes. Reiko was killed. Her sons blamed the Japanese for bombing the city. Her husband blamed the Americans for not giving up when it was obvious they would lose.
