In seiner Rede an die Sklaven von The Pitt erwähnt Ashur, dass The Pitt, mit seiner Industrie, seiner Sicherheit und Stärke, vom Commonwealth, dem Ödland der Hauptstadt und Ronto beneidet wird. Wo Ronto zu finden ist bleibt unklar. Es wird aber angedeutet, dass Ronto im Jahr 2277 den Ruf hat, eine starke Militärmacht zu sein.
- Rontos are large quadrupedal creatures indigenous to the desert world of Tatooine. They walk slowly on their four short, but strong, legs. They have a long neck and their head sports four ear-like organs, possibly used not only for hearing, but also helping to control body temperature, like the large ears of Earth's desert animals. They have a beaked mouth and are most likely herbivorous. Rontos have excellent senses of hearing and smelling, but poor eyesight, and are easily scared by sudden movements. Jawas commonly use Rontos as mounts.

The true location of Ronto is unknown. The context in which the region is mentioned implies that by 2277, Ronto had established a reputation as a significant military power over the years.

Then the survivors would be barely able to defend the world against the Thinking Machine's million-starship space Armada.
