abstract
| - An Alchemical Item is a manufactured magic item, created using Alchemy. They are created using alchemical formulas, with either the item or formula being available for purchase. Player characters can create alchemical items with the Alchemist feat, and may choose that feat in lieu of Ritual Caster from a class feature. [MME:129] Creating an item has the following requirements:
* Key Skills, where the alchemist must have training in at least one skill associated with the desired item
* The formula, which may be purchased at a market price described in a given item.
* Creation time, which is the amount of time requires to create one dose or application of the given item. Alchemical items are normally given the following categories, but are not exclusive to them (some have no category):
* Oil: Applied to other objects (typically weapons), granting them temporary properties or powers.
* Volatile: Explodes or expands when the vial is shattered or broken, often dealing damage of a specific type.
* Curative: These items aid in healing or in overcoming adverse and debilitating effects.
* Poison: A toxin that hampers or harms a creature
* Other: Some items do not fit into the other alchemical categories.[AV:21]
