Giant leeches or radioactive leeches range from around 2 feet long to the size of a full grown pot-bellied pig. These critters are very slow and will attack on sight. The Hoover Dam Scum Pits are occupied by giant leeches that swim in and out of the large holes in the ground where the power generators used to be and are big enough to suck out enough blood to kill a super mutant. They also attack the giant albino rats in the Scum Pits. Flooded sections of the sewers beneath Jericho are infested with the smaller version of these monstrosities.

  • The Giant Leech is a creature found in the Inland Sea region of southern Khul.
  • The Giant Leech is a particularly loathesome beast that lives mostly in free water, but also inhabits marshes and other damp environments. Like its smaller brethren, the Giant Leech feeds upon the blood of other animals, gorging itself and then dropping free of its victim. If the creature scores a wounding blow, it is successfully attached and then causes one W per round, irrespective of modifiers. The Leech can be removed physically - but this causes a further D4-1 W. A more practical way is to apply heat or oil, which will cause the animal to drop away.
