The Fire Officer (named Bob by colleagues) was one of the emergency crews who were deployed to the Street in December 2010 when it was rocked by an explosion from The Joinery bar, followed by a derailed tram from the wrecked viaduct. When the viaduct finally collapsed, Fire Officer Wayne reported to the Watch Commander that Bob was still there but he was later shown to be safe. One of the trapped people was Molly Dobbs, pinned underneath the wreckage of the Corner Shop. Sally Webster pleaded to be allowed to be with her as she was rescued and hold her hand and Firefighter Paul, knowing that Molly’s injuries were extremely life-threatening, agreed. Bob told Sally in no uncertain terms that she do exactly what they told her and that if they instructed her to get out, she did so without quest
